Overview
Penina Hotel & Golf Resort occupies a countryside estate beside the EN 125 in Penina, within Portimão municipality. Its golf offer comprises two currently open Courses and one temporarily closed Academy Course. The Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course is the 18-hole, par-73 centrepiece completed in 1966, while the nine-hole Resort Course can be played once or repeated for an 18-hole round. The Academy Course is a separate nine-hole, par-30 training layout whose current first-party page marks it temporarily closed. The separate Golf Academy provides the driving range and short-game practice facilities, including putting and chipping greens, a practice bunker, target greens, PGA tuition and a pro shop. The wider resort includes hotel accommodation, restaurants and bars. Non-resident golfers are directed to a dedicated official booking link, with golf enquiries handled through Penina's published resort phone and golf email. JJW Hotels & Resorts Limited operates the resort, which was formerly managed as Le Meridien Penina before its 2013 rebrand.
